Hon. Harold U. Johnson (Ret.)
Hon. Harold U. Johnson, P.J.F.P. (Ret.), is a family law mediator at BorgerMatez who provides mediation, arbitration and Blue Ribbon Panelist services. He also offers consultation in all divorce and family law matters.
Through June 2022, Judge Johnson served the Family Part of the Chancery Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey handling all Family Law case types. Starting in 2015, he also served as Presiding Family Judge, Vincage 15 overseeing and directing management of the judges and court staff in Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem counties. He was also Vice-Chairperson of the New Jersey Supreme Court Judicial Education Committee and the New Jersey Supreme Court Family Practice Committee.
He was first appointed as a Worker’s Compensation judge from January 2002 to July 2002, when he was tapped to serve the NJ Superior Court Bench Family Division.
Prior to joining the bench, Judge Johnson was both a Certified Civil Trial Attorney and Certified Matrimonial Trial Attorney.
He was elected a Cumberland County Freeholder (now County Commissioner) in 1999 and served until his appointment to the bench.
Judge Johnson is also an adjunct professor at Widener University School of Law as well as a presenter to lawyers at professional continuing educational courses in Family Law conducted by the American Bar Association and New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
